If I can't be beautiful, I want to be invisible

That would have to be one morning in September 2003, junior year at Lane, when I was heading to school on the Clark bus. This old-ish man was standing at the front of the bus, holding onto the overhead bars which struck me as odd considering half the bus was empty. He was standing in front of this girl, about my age, 16 or so, in a Catholic school uniform. As we neared the stop of Clark and Surf, in front of the Starbucks (every detail is imprinted on my mind)...his pants fell off. And he was not wearing underwear.

Half the school kids on the bus laughed, the other half looked like they were going to throw up. I was in the latter category. And he got off the bus, and walked away with his pants still at his ankles. And he shuffled into Starbucks. The bus pulled away before I could see their reaction.
