Woke up today at 4:30 am.
I tossed and turned for six hours, and maybe truly slept for an hour, max. I was exhausted.
Hopped in the shower, dutifully did my apple cider vinegar rinse first. I don't know if it's helping my scalp, but it has made my hair very shiny.
I drank a cup of coffee and watched more dog harness tutorials. At 6:30, made the drive downtown to Wag! HQ.
I was there at 7:25, I didn't need to be there till a quarter to 8. An employee lead me down to a basement rec room area and told me to wait. I waited until 8:03, then texted. Uh, am I supposed to be down here? Nope, I was not. Employee lead me astray. 😡
There were like 6 perfect, blonde, skinny girls applying. Good for the confidence.
The harness test was comprehensive, it was weird handling a fake dog, and the person in charge wasn't really paying attention while I put them on, just looked up to see the end product. I passed and got a t-shirt.
We then went over some questions and protocols, and did a photo/video shoot. We had 15 seconds to cutely sum up our name, experience with dogs, and come up with a cheeky sign-off line.
Mine was, "I'm the person who interrupts conversations to point out cute dogs walking by."
Everything got wrapped up, and I walked the 13 blocks to Union Station. I was 40 minutes early for my train, so I got a Diet Coke from the McDonald's and tried to stay awake. Once home, I passed out for 2 and a half hours.
Not enough. I'm going to be exhausted after my shift at the library tonight.
